Get Over With Health and Medical Costs

image_

Stress is expensive. It is one of the biggest high blood pressure causes, so you have to take medication to control that. Stress can give you an anxiety panic attack, so you might have prescription or counseling costs for that. Stress can make you weaker after surgery, leading to longer recovery time, leading to longer hospital stays, leading to higher medical bills.

If you have any stress-related health problems, you should take a hard look at whether you need a new or better stress management system. Because the bad health effects of stress come about because you aren’t handling stress properly. They are the result of not getting rid of the stress.

Here are 5 tips to getting rid of stress

  1. On developing and strengthening your inner self. For some people, this is a spiritual journey. For others, it is focusing on the will and self-discipline. Whatever path you elect, improving your inner ability to stand up to outer stress is a major weapon.
  2. Able to coach yourself through stressful situations. Having a coach means having someone to point out bad technique or poorly executed movements. Imagine someone doing that for you in how you handle stress. Now, imagine that you are that person for yourself.
  3. Start getting fit and healthy. Stress breaks down your body. Much like the colorado river wore down the earth and formed the grand canyon, stress not handled will wear down your body and your emotions. By being fit and healthy, your body can stand up to stress longer.
  4. To focus and meditate. Developing focus will help you stay on task with the stress and eliminate without getting distracted. Learning to mediate will help keep you calm while you are attacking the stress.
  5. To regulate your internal energy. Your energy will ebb and flow during the day. So you will have more or less energy to attack stress. By learning techniques to pull your internal energy on demand, you won’t get caught by stress in a moment of weakness.

Very few people add up how much stress costs them in medical costs. If you seriously look at what you are spending on medicine, and how much of that can be eliminated by using proper stress techniques, you will be stunned. And include drinking and smoking in your tally, too.

Stress management systems are usually built around one or two techniques. And most of them focus on your internal reaction to stress, rather than on externally attacking the stressor. By eliminating the stressor, and turning off the stress, you can save lots of money on medicines. And put some life back in your life.

Natural Health Writing

Today, with more and more people taking a keen interest in natural health and natural remedies, the time has come for natural health writing to also come of age. Time was when looking for alternative therapies and simple natural health tips would probably mean going through tomes of very stuffy boring books and trying to sift out the nuggets that made sense to you. Cut to today when the Internet is full of so many natural health sites. Suddenly, health, such an important topic is being dealt with not with a sober demeanor but with simplicity, with sensibility and even with a touch of humor.

Does this mean that all natural health writing is gospel? Far from it. What I mean to deal with here is to look at how the style of writing has changed to fit in with today’s world. The content I do not presume to comment upon. There was a very clear divide in how medical problems were addressed in days gone by. Doctors spoke in a language different from the rest of the world, a language filled with jargon, which only another doctor or a pharmacist would understand. The Internet seems to have ripped that veil asunder and everyone, but everyone who has anything to do with health seems to be on the bandwagon of getting down to the grassroots level to be understood.

It probably started with the interest in natural health. From the kitchen shelf, to a little more knowledge about herbs and spices. Those sites on the Internet have changed the way not just how natural health writing is done, but how health writing as a whole is looked at. With so little time and so much to do, if you are obtuse, you get left out. So natural health writing, as well as most health writing on the Internet seems to be coming of age and coming down to the common man’s level.

Natural Health Urinary Tract Infection

You have been looking up information about natural health urinary tract infection tips. And you probably have found that there is more information out there than you expected. The truth is that there are numerous ways to cure and prevent urinary tract infections. But what is valid and researched?

In fact, preventing and curing an infection walk hand in hand. Therefore, if you choose to prevent an infection; you are most likely going to cure your current infection as well. Unfortunately, most U.T.I. sufferers have already tried antibiotics which have thrown their bladder health out of whack. But if you decide to try some simple natural health tips, you may cure your infection in less than 12 hours and prevent it for the rest of your life.

Here are 7 FREE tips to get you started!

How to Cure and Prevent a Urinary Tract Infection

These natural health urinary tract infection tips may be old news or be something you have never heard before. It is important that you make it a habit to try each tip daily.

1. Your body needs to be flushed daily. Unfortunately, about 80% of Americans are dehydrated which leads to improper flushing of toxins, bacteria and even radicals. You can start flushing your infection by drinking 2 tall glasses of water for every 2 hours you are awake. If you drink water throughout the day, you have a better chance of preventing and curing your infection.

2. You might also wish to eat a diet that is rich in water soluble fiber from fruits and vegetables. Fiber will naturally flush your body as well as water. Try to eat more vegetables than fruits because of the high sugar (and acid) content in fruits. Eat at least 4-6 servings per day.

3. A great remedy to try is parsley. Parsley contains a compound called apiol which is a volatile oil that acts like an antiseptic for the bladder. You could notice relief in hours after consuming this garnish.

4. You may also wish to try Alka-Seltzer which will help relieve pain and burning. It will also maintain the pH of the urinary system.

5. Foods that contain a high acid content will make your symptoms worse. It is important to avoid these foods during your treatment: coffee, tea, chocolate, cola, guava, oranges, pineapples, strawberries, tomatoes, red wine, carbonated beverages, steak, corn, eggs and sour cream.

6. If you have taken antibiotics, these are some foods that will restore your pH balance: kale, spinach, potatoes, yams, zucchini, carrots, squash, onions, broccoli and mustard greens.

7. Here are also some foods that will flush the ‘bad’ bacteria (E coli) from your tract: mineral water, beet greens, eggplant, green beans, avocado, grapes, pears, and apples.

8. Finally, an increase in kidney function helps the body get rid of toxins and increases the flow of urine. And alfalfa is a great way to increase the kidney function ability. Alfalfa juice concentrate is a great remedy for UTI.

Eat Healthy While Traveling

When we are traveling, it is difficult to get fresh and organic food. This makes it so we eat something that we don’t want or something that isn’t as healthy. The choices are low and often leads to something that isn’t that tasty. At the same time, it’s difficult to bring around fresh food for a longer period of time. Follow these 10 tips to fuel and satisfy your tastebuds while remaining healthy.

Tip 1: Bring a travel bag

A travel cooler is a simple solution to keep your health while you are traveling. Sometimes, just bringing juice or a green smoothie makes a difference in your day. By doing this, you can bring things like kitcheree, soups, smoothies and food that you would normally have to refrigerate.

Tip 2: Get the right oils, vinegar and salt

Finding good oils and high quality fats is one of the reasons why restaurants often don’t work. If you want to change your position with oils, bring coconut oil, flax oil or raw butter. Restaurants will fulfill your request to steam veggies or rice while allowing you to use your own oils and fats a s a compliment.

Tip 3: Bring Spirulina, Blue Green Algae or Greens

Spirulina is a way to boost your energy and remain balanced, even on the go. Add it into any travel bottle and mix with water. It has a great taste and adds in alkaline.

Tip 4: Oatmeal

Oats are some of the best travel foods and they are naturally healthy. They don’t need to be refrigerated, they are light and they can be cooked first. Get a cup of hot water and cook it yourself while on the go! Add in raisins, a chopped apple and other flavors for a balanced meal.

Tip 5: What to Do with Fresh Fruit

Apples, oranges and bananas make great travel foods and are easy to carry with you. The ability to have these without refrigeration makes them even better to carry with you.

Tip 6: Add in Energy with Nuts, Seed and Dried Fruits

This is the travel tip that any healthy traveler already recognizes. Pack the nuts, seeds and dried fruits to add in the protein and fats you need.

Tip 7: Sandwiches

Sandwiches used to be a huge nutritional item but somehow have filtered out. They are best to combine with sprouted grain bread, high quality nut butter, fruit and vegetables. Your veggies don’t need to get soggy if you pack all of the ingredients separately and then assemble it when you are ready to eat.

Tip 8: Wraps

Some of the best wraps are seaweed nori. These sometimes get soggy but they never lose their taste. You can also add in nuts, eggs, seeds, cheese, avocado, veggies or sprouts.

Tip 9: From Eggs to Potatoes

Cook them the night before and be ready for the added protein and snacks during your day. These can be healthy and filling while you are in an airport or traveling in the car.

Tip 10: Sardines

No one would suspect sardines as a way to move with travel. However, these work with cultured vegetables and other foods with toast. Just make sure you pack it right so you don’t have problems with the smell.

Tips on eating healthy in the winter

Summer time brings an abundance of fruits and vegetables, so eating healthy in summer isn’t very difficult at all. Winter on the other hand, requires us to vary our game plan. True, you won’t get juicy ears of corn, but there is an abundance of winter fruits and vegetables too – we just need to know what they are. Come winter and most of us stock up on canned foods. We don’t need to do that. We can eat fresh fruits and healthy veggies recipes in the winter too and this article will explain how.

Eating healthy and healthy menu planner in the winter tip 1: You can buy Fresh in winter too!

Vegetables such as Beets Broccoli, Brussel sprouts, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflower, Celery, Potatoes, Spinach, Sweet potatoes, Winter squash, turnips, parsnips and rutabagas grow in abundance in winter. The fruit list too is equally extensive and includes Bananas, Grapes, Oranges, Pomegranate, Cranberries, Kiwi, Passion fruit, Pears and Tangerine.

Eating healthy in the winter tip 2: Know your daily food planner!

Always plan your menu and based on your plan, prepare the shopping list. Your daily healthy eating plans should always be to include fresh produce of the season. Avoid canned and processed food as much as possible.

Tips on eating healthy in the summer

It is very easy to eat healthy in the warmer months so we must not let go of the opportunity. The local grocery stores are flooded with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables and so there is absolutely no reason to buy canned or processed food during the summer. Summer also means you can bring out the BBQ and enjoy grilled foods every evening.

Easy healthy eating in the summer tip 1: Know your meats

Buy your meat from the local butcher shop rather than the mall. At the butcher shop you can see and select lean cuts of beef, including round, sirloin and loin cuts. Eating healthy in the summer tip 2: There’s lots of variety, so be adventurous

There simply is no reason to stick to the same food day after day week after week. During the summer there’s such a wide choice of vegetables and herbs available that it would be criminal not the take advantage of it and spice up your healthy diet plan. Did you know you could add fresh fruit to your meats as well? For example, this summer try making Oriental Kabobs with chicken chunks alternated with fruit. We guarantee the taste will be amazing.

Eating healthy in the summer tip 3: Stay hydrated

It’s not just plants that need to be watered. Our body needs 7 to 8 glasses of water a day otherwise it will not be able to metabolize the food we eat or replace the water we lose as sweat or the moisture we lose when we breathe out. (That’s right; we lose moisture every time we breathe out).

Healthy eating guide in the summer tip 4: Homemade popsicles

Your kids will love this. Stock your refrigerator with fresh berries, healthy breakfast recipes and yogurt. If your kids love those colorful but harmful factory made popsicles, you can make them at home by simply freezing 100 percent fresh fruit juice.

As man continues to evolve and make progress, change is inevitable, and this change has touched on all areas of our lives including health and fitness. Gone are the days when we ate, drank and made merry, now the focus is all about healthy lifestyles and keeping fit. This article on health and fitness tips will feature simple methods that you can take advantage of in your daily life to enjoy good health and keep fit.

One of the first things we need to take control of is our diet. A healthy balanced diet will enable you to enjoy a healthy life for a long time to come. All those fats that are not good for the body have to go. True, we love our burgers and French fries, hot dogs and sausages, cheeses and spare ribs and all the other yummy things that are not good for our health. You have to lean on meats, chicken and fish are best, and low fat in milk and cheese. Make a firm decision and stick with it to see a difference in your well-being.

Do not stagnate – move! Grab every opportunity you can to move your body. Even if you have a desk job, you can always stand, stretch or take a short walk now and then. Use the stairs instead of the elevator, walk to the grocery store for your milk and paper. If you are not a gym aficionado, then walk the dog. Take your exercise in small doses and you will soon get a rhythm going.

Get rid of the stress, you may not think it but stress contributes to poor health. When you are stressed, you get headaches, high blood pressure, stomach trouble, and a whole lot of other ailments, but the worst part of the stress is it ruins your posture. Find things to do every day that you enjoy doing and take at least 30 minutes to enjoy a good book or magazine, a favorite TV program, play with your dog or just soak in the tub.

Water is one of our most precious gifts and drinking copious amounts of it helps flush the toxins out of your system. Water contributes to replenishing body fluids and makes the skin look healthy. It flushes the liver and kidneys making them function more efficiently. Water is essential to the well-being of your body, and you should hydrate at regular intervals throughout the day.

Use these simple tips to live a healthy and fit life!

Smart Tips For Good Health

Not everyone wants to build muscle up and look like a bodybuilder, sprint like an Olympian or be as skinny as a marathon runner. However many people do want to get themselves into decent shape and maintain a healthy lifestyle and a positive healthy appearance and feel. These five tips will actually aid you in doing that:

1) Eat your meals more regularly and make them smaller in size. Doing this raises the rate at which your body works through its supply of calories, this is known as it metabolic rate. You can shed more pounds faster if you increase the speed of this rate of course. If you only eat once or twice a day your body thinks it is starving and that it has to hold onto the energy it has and so chooses a much slower metabolic rate. If however you eat regular meals your body feels free to use up its supply of energy as it knows it is getting more soon hence a faster metabolic rate.

2) Do interval training as opposed to long continuous activities. Interval training involves short bursts of energy maybe for a minute or two which are very intense, these are then followed by period of much easier activity. For example you might jog for a couple of minutes then run at 80-90% of your maximum for a minute and then jog again for 2 minutes. You could do this for 20 minutes and get a great workout. This interval training system can be sued with most activities however it can most easily be applied to running, swimming and cycling. This is better for you as you can burn off more calories in a shorter space of time, you will find that you average heart rate over the twenty minutes is higher than if you did a long continuous jog. What is more, it is much less boring and as you get fitter you can change the time intervals to keep increasing your fitness levels.

3) Exercise with circuit training. The armed forces use these for a good reason. It is a far greater allround muscle building workout. Doing this can improve both your muscle endurance and strength. There are so many different routines and it is very simple to monitor your progress.

4) Consume lots of water. To keep functioning healthily your body needs a good supply of water each day as it is required for all of the bodies essential chemical reactions. This keeps your mind alert whilst also helping to flush out harmful toxins that accumulate in the body.

5) Train with a partner or with friends. This provides you with extra motivation to participate and will keep you participating for longer. It lets you both enjoy it more and helps you persist in the face of potential boredom.

If you are interested in losing body fat then I highly recommend the burn the fat feed the muscle book or if you wish to pile on muscle then try no nonsense muscle building for a great plan.

Money Saving Tip For Good Health

Everyone wants to change or improve at least one thing in his or her life. And with so many products and services to choose from, how do you know which is best? The first thing you need to decide is if you are seeking a temporary quick fix or a permanent solution for your desired change. If you want your change to be permanent then you are going to need to determine if the product or service that you are considering is going to do it for you.

So how do you determine if something is only temporary? If you need to continuously consume a product or perform a certain action in order to obtain results, then that product or service is considered a temporary fix. Although it may mask your issue, the reality is that will never permanently change anything because it is only going to temporarily work for as long as you use it.

So what if you are unsure about a particular product or service? As a consumer who is considering investing money in a product or service, you have the right to ask questions! For example call that gym or workout center and ask them if you have to continue to use their service in order to achieve a lifetime of weight loss results. Or call that food program maker and ask if you would regain weight after stopping the use of their program. Or call the stop smoking Patch Company or stop smoking pill maker and ask them what will happen if you suddenly stop using their product.

If the example merchants above insinuate that you have to continue with their product or service in order to achieve permanent results then you need to continue shopping for something else.

Now, the reason for this article is cut through all the smoke and mirrors. Unfortunately many people often get confused when seeking help for certain issues and they are often mislead by advertisers. When we decide to change our lives we often envision scenes of living the ending result of our new lifestyle while completely ignoring the step process involved in getting to the ending result in the first place.

Advertisers realize this. For example let’s take a look at television commercials for trade schools and colleges. They focus the attention of their commercial on showing people playing ball with their kids, taking walks in the park, playing volleyball on the beach with their buddies or just simply enjoying life. They don’t show all hard work involved in attending school. From hectic school schedules and late night studying to exams, time consuming school projects and let’s not forget the cost. Unless you have a giant bankroll, student loans are nice but they will need to be paid back afterwards.

They instead they focus on the emotional happy ending result (those happy smiling faces enjoying life), the same one you are envisioning in your own mind. The desired message they want to convey is if you attend their school, you too will have more time to play ball with your kids or take strolling beach walks with your spouse. Use our service and you will be happy in life. If they show you that and you are already seeing that in your mind, they just made a connection with you and now you are hooked.

The same goes for self-help items like stop smoking aids and weight loss gimmicks. 97.8% of people who suffer with weight problems actually have eating disorders. So, although that diet pill company website is most likely going to sport pictures of slender people, it is important to understand that for most people, that item is going to fail because the reality is that it does nothing to fix the eating disorder. But again all we see is that popping that pill will make us thin like the person on the website.

So in closing…before you consider using or buying any product or service you should fist determine what your true goals are. And secondly, find out if the product or service you are considering is going to accomplish these goals for you. Remember that diet pill or food program might be perfect if you are looking to drop a few quick pounds for an up coming family event or gathering. On the other hand, unless you plan on eating those meals or popping those diet pills forever, they will not be best for someone who is struggling with weight issues and looking for a lifetime of long term weight loss results.

The only thing that makes failing worse, is spending a bunch of money on something that was never intended to work like you thought it was going to in the first place.

And that’s our FREE money saving tip from us to you.

Things to Consider Before Joining a New Gym

The fact that you’re considering joining a gym (or are changing gyms) is an indication that you’re motivated to exercise and are on course to reaching your fitness goals, so CONGRATULATIONS! Finding the proper gym for you is a very important step, which should be taken seriously. It can make all the difference in terms of your consistency with exercise, and consistency is key. Quite simply, If you don’t like your gym, you’re not as likely to go there consistently. Then there’s all the guilt about not going, blah blah, blah, the whole scenario is unproductive. Bottom line: You need to like your gym and enjoy going there.

Here are some great healthy living tips on how to find the gym that is right for you:

  1. Most gyms will offer a free pass (normally a week or two, sometimes longer), so that you can “try before you buy”. Always accept and use the pass (use it as much as you can, as you want to learn a lot about the gym for free).
  2. Thumbs down to any gym that tries to pressure sell you on the spot or doesn’t offer a pass.
  3. Get a feel for the people working there: Are they accessible or do they seem too busy to serve you or answer questions? Do they seem enthusiastic about you meeting your goals or are they kind-of indifferent? Are they friendly or snooty? Will they take time to explain and demonstrate all of the equipment, or do they want to rush through this important process?
  4. Do they have a full array of equipment for weight training as well as cardio? (Both are important).
  5. Do they have enough equipment (and different varieties) so that you wont be constantly waiting to use everything?
  6. Are the gym and change/washrooms/showers kept clean?
  7. Are there clearly posted respect rules (i.e. put weights away, no swearing, no muscle shirts, no dropping weights, clean equipment when finished with it, etc.)?
  8. Will you be comfortable with the ratio of men to women in this gym?
  9. Do the other members seem friendly and polite? (I think this is a big one). Is it a gym or a fashion show?
  10. Do they offer a childcare service and would you be totally comfortable with leaving your child there?
  11. Do they have a hot tub? Sauna? Steam room? Do you have to pay a “premium” membership price to use these things?
  12. Can you rent a locker to leave your things in over night or are lockers just for day use?
  13. Do they have a towel service? (not a deal-breaker, but it is a convenient service).
  14. Does the gym area have enough mirrors? (important for helping you keep proper form while working out).
  15. Are the membership fees competitive?
  16. Is it a reasonable proximity from home?
  17. Is there a fully equipped “women’s only” section? (There may be days when you’d prefer to do some or most of your work-out in the company of women only, so it can be nice to have this option).
  18. Do they have a good selection of fitness classes and programs? Are they scheduled at times when you might be able to fit a few in during the week, if you want to?
  19. What are the gym hours? Are they open late/early enough, so that you’ll be able to fit it into your days?

Remember, this is an important decision and not to be made on a whim. Gym memberships can be fairly pricey, so the last thing that you want is to become a paying member at a place where you don’t want to go. Also, keep in mind that most gym contracts will have you locked into payment for a year, charging a nasty little fee for early cancellation (read the fine print). I would recommend thorough investigation of at least 5 gyms around your area before making any commitment. Ask family and friends for recommendations as well.

I hope these healthy living tips have been helpful. Here’s to your health and fitness journey!
